The Church continues proclaiming the Resurrection because the mystery cannot be exhausted in a single celebration. The disciples required time to understand what God had accomplished, and Christians also need continually to deepen their faith in the risen Lord. The women first encounter an empty tomb. They are frightened and confused, but the heavenly message directs them back to the words of Jesus. Faith grows when they remember that Christ had already spoken about His suffering, death, and Resurrection. This teaches us that confusion and suffering should not cause us to forget God’s promises. When life appears empty and hope seems buried, Christians must return to the Word of Christ. The apostles initially consider the women’s testimony unbelievable. The Resurrection challenges ordinary human expectations. Nevertheless, God chooses these faithful women as the first witnesses who carry the Paschal announcement to the apostolic community. Saint Paul lists the appearances of the risen Christ to Peter, the apostles, many disciples, and finally to Paul himself. The Gospel of the Resurrection rests upon apostolic testimony and the real transforming encounter of believers with Christ. Peter, who had once denied Jesus, now stands publicly and proclaims that God raised Him from the dead and made Him both Lord and Messiah. The Resurrection does not merely comfort Peter; it restores his mission and gives him courage. Christ also restores those who have failed today. Past weakness does not have to define a person’s future. The risen Lord can transform fear into courage, guilt into forgiveness, mourning into hope, and failed disciples into faithful witnesses. Christians should therefore not keep the Resurrection inside the church celebration. They must carry it into families, workplaces, suffering communities, and every place where people believe that hope has ended. The Church repeats the Paschal readings so that the truth may become deeply rooted in us: Christ has risen. His promises are trustworthy. Death has been defeated, and everyone who belongs to Him is called to live and witness as a person of hope.
