The Sunday of ምኩራብ calls believers to examine the condition of God’s house. At the first level, God’s house is the sacred place of worship. It must never be treated as an ordinary meeting hall, a place for personal profit, political ambition, competition, entertainment, or self-promotion. At a deeper level, the Church is God’s house—the community in which Christ gathers, teaches, heals, sanctifies, and nourishes His people. At a personal level, every believer must ask whether the heart has truly become a dwelling place for God. Christ desires to cleanse all three: the visible place of worship; the community of believers; and the hidden temple of the human heart.
