God is faithful, and all His promises find their fulfilment in Jesus Christ. Saint Paul teaches that Christ is not uncertain or divided: in Him, God’s answer is always “Yes.” Through Christ, believers are strengthened, anointed, sealed, and given the Holy Spirit. Saint Peter reminds Christians not to be surprised when suffering or persecution tests their faith. Trials do not mean that God has abandoned us. When suffering is accepted faithfully for the sake of Christ, it purifies the heart and allows the believer to share more deeply in the life of the Lord. Christians must entrust themselves to their faithful Creator while continuing to do what is good. In Ephesus, the preaching of the Gospel leads people to genuine conversion. Those who had practised magic openly confess their former actions and destroy the books connected with those practices. Their example shows that repentance is not only a feeling or spoken promise. True conversion requires us to abandon everything that competes with God. Jesus teaches that our hearts will always follow what we consider to be our treasure. Earthly possessions can be lost, but the treasure stored with God remains forever. We cannot serve both God and wealth. We are therefore called to reject anxiety, trust our heavenly Father, and seek first His Kingdom and righteousness. The beautiful flower of Christian life is a heart purified from false attachments—a heart whose true treasure is Christ and whose confidence rests in God’s providence.
